Welcome to Gym Mum - your personal training and rehabilitation specialist with a difference.
Located in the heart of Woolloongabba at the community of Helfi Addiction 24/7 Fitness Centre, Ask Gym Mum offers personalised training programs tailored to your needs. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned pro, if you are in need of support, working with an NDIS partner or just wanting to figure out how to continue to live a mobile and aging lifestyle; there is little Tracy can't handle.
Introducing you to a health and fitness coach with some very specific approaches and passions – ranging from your more conservative fitness and strengthening, to martial arts conditioning - there is very little that Tracy can’t help you with. She is very aware that the thought of a personal trainer can bring about feelings of stress and anxiety, and preconceived ideas of pain and discomfort.
Let's be honest – not all of us want to be international athletes. Most of us want to be healthy and happy, and able to function well. For many, it is a matter of integrating movement and functionality into our lives in a warm and compassionate way, ensuring that physical exercise is sustainable and becomes a lifestyle, regardless of where your starting point is.
Everyone is different and every individual has their own goals and preferences as to how they train. Many people have tried all sorts of approaches resulting in short lived results and long held frustrations, and a return to old ways. Some (many) are intimidated by their training environment, and feel judged and anxious. Some have an idea of what they need to do but don’t know how to (or cant) get the support they need. And some have paid for a gym membership for years but just cant bring themselves to walk in the front door. Tracy is a part of a team who is here to help you navigate all of the above.
Helfi Addiction Fitness Centre in Woolloongabba is a 24/7 facility with soul and as much support as you need. Tracy can help to identify where you are currently at with your health and fitness, and work with you to gently and carefully ensure you are working in an appropriate way to suit your goals and circumstances. The facility maintains a carefully cultivated environment of community and inclusivity; with three floors to spread out, there is plenty of space, and a welcoming vibe based on kindness and respect. No judgement, no military style training, and no pressure. We are not your typical social media gym.

Personal Safety and Self-Defence
Tracy’s aim is that every person feels comfortable and confident in their own skin. She is a highly trained black belt instructor in Karate and has also trained quite extensively in Jujitsu.
She is incredibly well versed in training self-defence and environmental awareness to support individuals to feel safe and secure in and around the community.
She works with a large number of higher school age children all the way through to senior citizens and presents practical, scenario based, relevant self-defence. She teaches sensible strategies & practical application, resulting in a simple style using techniques which are easy to master and apply and most importantly, remember when under pressure. Presenting in this manner helps with retention and with practice leads to actions becoming a natural appropriate response.
There is no fitness level required to undertake this type of training, just a positive respectful attitude and a willingness to learn. For more information about current session availability, training options and personalised training programs, please click here
Rehabilitation through exercise and mobility
Following an injury, many individuals need to go through a period of rehabilitation. Tracy is able to work in conjunction with your physical therapists and health care professionals to write a program based on your physical capabilities, or work with a program that has been prescribed for you. While your healthcare professionals will be responsible for identifying what you can or can’t do, Tracy can ensure you are doing your exercises safely and correct form to aid in a smooth recovery.
As we mature, things can become more challenging. Maintaining muscle strength and bone density is a vital part of a healthy aging process. Through gentle, carefully constructed exercise, we can maintain and even regain important fundamental movements, keeping us safer and helping us to stay stronger and more capable during our later years.
Tracy can integrate recommended activities provided by your healthcare provider to assist with day to day physical ability.
Tracy has also worked within the NDIS framework to provide assistance to individuals with a variety of needs, who may find it challenging to participate in a normal gym environment.
Goal setting done right:
Achievable, Sensible and With Purpose
Sometimes we don’t know what we don’t know. Then we google things and everything gets confusing and overwhelming. This can result in procrastination and a lack of action. Sometimes a set of fresh eyes (and some blunt observations) can shift this mindset, and give a new and clearer perspective; And it's not always about fitness in the classic sense of the word.
There is always space on the couch for a chat with gym mum.
Feel free to come sit and discuss goal setting, choices, perspectives, opinions, directions, and life’s challenges over a nice cup of tea.
